How not to think critically

Him: "Who says I have not looked at them already? For that matter why they hell do I need the internet to perform critical thinking and research?"
Me: "So how do you do research hmmm? The internet is a good tool for that."
Him: "You have cleverly avoided my question with a question. Well done."

The stupidity is painful.

People distrust research on the subject of what is and is not a mental illness because the researchers so often change their minds.

You're correct... for now.

In a decade... who knows?

It's also hard for people to believe kids are sexual at a young age.

You're not going to get agreement out of anyone because this is very much an is-ought dilemma.

Yes, there are trans kids. The question is what to do about it.

I have mental disorders myself, notably NPD.

I find it hard to believe that the way I am is wrong, even if I want to be that way, and I should be helped not to be that way whether I want it or not, I should be excluded from certain aspects of life like military service, but that the world should encourage people to be trans.

See, I just have a problem with these two things together.

But ultimately it's not about what I think. It's about what the shrinks think.

You're right, he's wrong, you have research, he doesn't. End of story.
