Actually, English is the best language. By far the largest vocabulary with all shades of meaning possible. Still fun to find different word/ideas expressed in different languages. the famous one being schadenfreude...which can be easily expressed in English but we don't have a single word for the idea....except for using schadenfreude which is totally acceptable....and why English is the best language. I admit: French "sounds" better....but we think with words. English, is the best language. Sad our grandkiddies will be treading water yelling for help in Chinese. Chinese is a terrible language.

Some of those have to be ex-pat American Australian teachers earning extra money in their off hours and having a goof.

Gord is the etymologist, but I assume all things that "carry" are cars. ( Cable cars, boxcars on trains and so on) :D
I actually more of a googlist.

They're actually "rail-buses."

We all can google: (car): The alternative name car is believed to originate from the Latin word carrus:wheeled vehicle.

The word "penis" originally meant "tail" in Latin.

Think of that next time you're playing "pin the tail on the donkey" and then mind where you're sticking that thing, you sickos....

Hell, if a donkey is agreeable enough to let us use his dick for our amusement, who are we to argue?

"Noel" comes from the word for "birthday".

Happy birthday!
