you say that they only want to protect ceremony but they have gone out of their way to prove legitimate tribes as fakes . without any proper research or info on southeastern tribes . for example my tribe are the santee out of south carolina . members of new age frauds have said . that my tribe never existed . so youre wrong there . to say that its a pristene group with clear and pure intentions. while none have ever lived on the eastern seaboard where boarding school epidemics first began . they are not the mouthpiece of native america . nor the yardstick by which we measure who is native and who isnt .Kaepora Gaebora wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2013 7:15 pmLooking at the forum, it's dedicated to pointing out pseudo-Native Americans fraudsters, which include New Age groups borrowing/stealing/making up cultural identities of tribes.
I can't find anything in their news section related to libel charges or moving servers, and nothing comes up in a Google search. They keep referring to Al Carroll as the founder, though I can't find anything officially naming him as the founder of the site and there are a billion Al Carroll's out there. In any case, attacking him as 'not native' doesn't matter as the site is for preservation of a cultural identity, not about being a 'true' NA.
As for the server in Panama... proof? A whois query brings up a identity protector based in Singapore which doesn't mean anything, and if it were based in Panama, does that matter?
I'm betting this is likely a smear campaign from somebody or some people in these New Age-y groups pissed off about being called out as frauds. In which case, this was the wrong forum to do this.
(Yeah, I'm bored and this intrigued me.)

okay then let me ask u why so many of your group members primarily consisting of plains people . people from montana and canada who have never stepeed foot on the eastern seaboard be allowed to basically bash and disrespect the history of the southeastern tribes . for example . it is common knowledge that the southeastern siouan bands are technically dakota . but yet it was allowed for forum members without proof or education to post ridiculous comments about my people " the santee " being fake and fraudulent ?? why are your members allowed to exhibit racial and blood quantum puritannical racist full bloods ? it was pointed out by a dakota woman . that most or some in the midwest do not want to be considered a part of southeastern siouan peoples because we have black admiztures ? and people in the midwest may not want to admit that they have a black ancestor in our burial mounds . i see racial puritanists and full blood hubris and pride . and a bullying on people of mixed descent . we in the east were the first to undergo everything native america ever suffered . u all need to show us respect in the east .Al Carroll wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2015 7:04 pmHello, I'm the Al Carroll mentioned. I'm late to this, but felt it important to clear things up. In part because we do have quite a few self described skeptics among our members, and our purpose has a lot in common with skeptics.
No, I'm not the owner. No one is or ever has been. I'm one moderator out of five and one member of over 2000. And contrary to Tapeworm's claim, our membership is mostly Native. We have members from dozens of tribes, not just in the US but Latin America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Native Hawaiians. Every ethnicity and faith you can name, plus atheists and agnostics. And many of our members are survivors of New Age abuse and fraud.
I tend to get the most attention, being a professor and not hiding my name. Who I am is all over the site.

It's interesting that it's solely been Nuage imposters and exploiters we expose who claim I'm not Native. No one else, not Natives, not the schools where I studied American Indian Studies under very prestigious Native professors, not the Fulbright, not the colleges where I've taught or university presses who publish me, not the numerous Native activists I work with, including American Indian Movement members and chapters, and members of tribal gov'ts.
So I'll let all of you decide who is more credible, an anonymous New Ager who joined just to smear myself and NAFPS, or a group of human rights activists devoted to the defense of Native traditions. And as Kaepora pointed out, we don't demand one be Native to join. That'd be racist, just as racist as it is for an outsider like Tapeworm being the judge as to who "true" Natives are. One doesn't need to be Native to be concerned how New Age imposters abuse, exploit, and commercialize Native traditions by selling false versions of them, as well as abuse hapless New Age followers financially, spiritually, and often sexually.
We are a resource for numerous tribes, universities, activists, museums, and people of all backgrounds. Feel free to call on us.
