I don't hate DC. I recognize his con-artistry. Give him a chance? I don't play the shell game either for the same reason.

He's a man who loves his word salads. And apparently so do others.

Come to think of it, maybe he could make a Chopra Salad Bar where people get their own assortment of Chopra's personalized word salads.

The OP has, for reasons I can't begin to fathom, changed the thread title. This tactic (if that's what it was) has not worked.

You've changed the point of the thread entirely. If I were to hazard a guess (And being me, I will...) you wanted people to trash Chopra, change the title to Dawkins, so making it appear as though we were hypocrites.

You didn't count on people actually using the name "Chopra" in their responses. Oops.

The O.P. can change the title of the first post -- which changes the title/subject for the topic listing.

Anyone replying can also change the subject/title of their subsequent posts.

Anyone replying will get the default subject/title of one or the other depending on whether they are just replying or quoting (and they do not change it in their response).

See above for my change to this post as well as my previous 'hate for donnie' subject...

Come to think of it, I believe they can become quite aggressive. Maybe it's not always so enchanting…
I don't know about what enchants others: my fish tank (actually my children's fish tanks) captivated me, and I learned a lot from watching fish, and even more from the work of keeping the fish balanced and sociable, and supplied with enough air, food and environmentally correct water to keep them feeling secure, so that they wouldn't turn so mindlessly aggressive that they started tearing each other apart, or eating each others and their own young..
All instructive for family life as well as in the work place: most offices environments are very much like fish tanks with in-groups, out-groups… old timers (the US) and new arrivals(THEM) and their eventual placement in the in-group or the out-group…
Oh that IN-GROUP and the {!#%@} the to- the- manner- born shiteaters are willing to eat to be admitted to it and staying in it!!…
But back to the fish: well, I'm too tired now to go back to the fish, I want to finish the book I've been reading and get some shut-eye, having been up at dawn this morning to watch what now seems like a miracle: rain on Southern California, it's like not seen in months, drought as a reminder of how insignificant we and our pathetic posturing and our sycophancy are in the face of nature's capriciousness coupled with our indifference to the health of he planet..
But you are very quick, very smart, and I think you now know as much about the fish as I do anyway.
And as usual, I'm so glad we could have this little (if one-sided) chat.
'Night.

A childhood friend's father kept an adorably well maintained little fish tank, and I would get up really close against the glass when I could, admiring the beauty of all its (small) inhabitants and, to me, strange wonders, ever mindful of the warning not to touch what seemed like a gem holding living gems to me...

Being able to exist in an environment so unsuitable for us seemed (and still does) miraculous to me.

But water is so very necessary to all of life on earth (or nearly all of it?... hah, I don't really know for certain! ... mulling...). But I'm glad you can enjoy the rich, fertile air that comes with a good rain.

And hope you'll have a very good night. : )

Eggs… sometimes you pay your way.
I'm off… fishing in the BIG Pacific tank, on the morrow at 4:30am

Your fanciful card games, movie sojourns and exciting overseas trips, that all take place within the four walls of an aged care retirement home, do not suggest your own children offered you the care, I gave my parents."

I'm not sure if donnie's actions in this thread actually break any forum rules but I've sent a notification to Pyrrho so he is aware of it and can keep an eye on this guy. I expect more behavior like this in the near future.
