That simply HAS to be photoshopped!
“It is certainly sad and regrettable that so many innocent people died…Stalin was absolutely adamant on making doubly sure: spare no one…I don’t deny that I supported that view. I was simply not able to study every individual case…It was hard to draw a precise line where to stop.”

Not really. TJ may have a comment, but I've seen beau coup jaw-droppers when I was stationed in Japan. I imagine the reverse is equally true for visitors to the US.

I've seen representations of executions where the victim was splayed on an big X. Seems more practical than a vertical cross.

I was in Japan over Thanksgiving a couple of years ago but they were decorating for Christmas already and it was a mess. Great light displays but anything that had any kind of Nativity or Santa imagery was super weird.

There have been Christians in Japan since the 1400s.

And it makes money, so it will happen.

I've celebrated Diwali and Holi a few times with Hindu friends.

Well done, Austin. I approve. We should all be open to new cultural experiences.

I saw cards for Diwali in the local Dollarama. Almost celebrated it myself this year, but I couldn't find an idol of Lakshmi for under $3 so I said "screw it".

Next year, Diwali is October 27. Since it is just before Hallowe'en, you might be able to find a Lakshmi costume you could wear.
