Nope. They keep adding expansion teams, which increases the number of playoffs and delays the Super Bowl. It's this Sunday.

I'm serious when I say I had no idea. Watching other people play isn't high on my priority list.

I used to be a diehard fan, dedicating every Sunday to my Patriots and a string of Bloody Marys. Then I read that, in football, 3 hours of game time actually translates into about 12 minutes of actual gameplay, and I stopped, annoyed with the time waste.

I still put the Bruins' games on TV, but I mostly just listen while doing other things. The Bruins' announcer's voice escalates whenever something interesting is happening, so I don't miss watching good plays.

Seven new teams were enfranchised between 1976 and 2002, so they expanded both conferences (AFC and NFC) from three divisions to four. Obviously, this increased the number of playoff games, which pushed the Super Bowl forward into February.

I still think it's unfair that Florida has three teams (Miami, Tampa Bay, Jacksonville) while all of New England only has one. :?

I suspect that everyone should be happy with more teams - as after all, that means more organized brute force on the field and off of the streets. Unless of course you look at these teams as being training experiences...

It's not the Pats fault when other teams don't understand science.
