There are some interesting posters here, and I'm curious to know how educated the forum's community is. Please vote in the poll and give any other information concerning your educational background that you are comfortable with disclosing (e.g., field of concentration, school(s) attended).

Master's.

It's not fair. If you get a doctoral degree, any doctoral degree, you can get at least some people to call you "doctor".

Nobody calls me "master". :P

Master sociology. Minors in psychology and history.

I'd like to be called "master" too. :)

A couple of credits short of a bachelor's in Liberal Studies, with the prereq's to teach while getting a Master's in education.

Or that was the original plan, and moving forward is just a test away, but the jobs have been going the other direction in my area and I'm reasonably well employed in less rewarding field already. I decided the prudent thing was to pay down student loans, rather than rack up 40k or so more (toward a still non-existent job).

After 20-some years as a professional software engineer and consultant, I'm back in graduate school working on my PhD in Computer Science. Why? Because I've always wanted to do that and I ain't getting any younger. Thesis topic: Something to do with computer analysis of music.

My wife would get a kick out of me getting my PhD. But, honestly, I really don't want to put in the work. Hell, I jus argued with dumb-ass PhD's from {!#%@} Finland and had to shame their asses because they thought they knew more.... I try hard not to do that...but when someone is aggressive in their ignorance I have to shut them down...

Good point. I know some PhDs like that.

Regardless, I would prefer to be a dumb-ass with a PhD than without. :)

Education consists mainly of what we have unlearned. - Mark Twain
(Twain could have added "especially in Sunday School.", but then, the regular public schools teach dogma about the wonders of American exceptionalism, a foreign policy as pure as the driven snow, and so forth, too.)
If one can be taught to believe absurdities, one can commit atrocities. --Voltaire

Reminds me of an episode of Dragon's Den where a college professor tried to pull that crap on the investors, so Robert Herjavec tore up the cashier's check for $200,000 and the deal was off. That was priceless.
