there's a fine collection of metal songs about being nuked, of course. Some of my favourites:

Carnivore, 'Ground Zero Brooklyn' (1987)

Sepultura, 'Beneath the Remains' (1989)

Judas Priest, 'Cathedral Spires' (1997) - best thing they ever did without Halford

I saw Sepultura a couple of years ago and Max & Iggor perform the Roots album in its entirety last year. Next gig is a bit more gentle;

Wasn't this thread about "music"?
There is spelling mistake in the title...your old avatar "sings" about "Natsers"...I first thought it was "lobsters" with a weird accent....or Napsters, but then thought it was long before the internet...

Why not this one?

Wanting more of the Voodoo Chile kissed on Jupiter's far away shores? Might be Grandad music. Or it might be Bob Dylan's grandmother music. ;-) From The Winterland 12 October 1968 concert. A pretty killer of a solo

I love Bob Dylan.
Regarding Jimmy H, it ceased to be appealing to me ever since i quit weed over twenty years ago... lol...
Actually, so far i liked some of the stuff posted by INCE, even the Israeli's band with JC himself on guitar...
Thin Lizzy is not bad when they make the effort to sound "progressive", as i do like progressive rock.

Music taste is a weird thing, my wife like 90% of what i love, which is easy since my taste goes from Wagner to Pink Floyd with everything kind of stuff in between, but i had to ban those 10% left which goes from Lili Marlene to German military marches (most existed long before Dolfy and were composed in the XIXth) to ELP (Emerson, Lake and Palmer)...she explains that this is why headphones have been invented...

The genres of hard rock and metal and punk have been the ones that have used the theme of Holocaust and Apocalypse and mass violence and societal violence and warfare very effectively. Hendrix paved the way with Machine Gun as did Black Sabbath etc and a dilligent music sub culture researcher will be able to pull down yet earlier examples, perhaps back to the songs of Hans Eisler. Doubltless the theme has always been mined, back to violent broadside ballads recording murders and so on and beyond.

The Stranglers were arguably at the top of their game when they performed a series of gigs at the Roundhouse in London in 1979, a few of those tracks ended up on a Stranglers Top ten live album, 'Stranglers Live Xcerts.'

It included an extraordinary song that had first appeared on the studio album Black and White, Curfew. They turn day into night...

Pretty much this track and the Holiday in Cambodia are bookends of the Dead Lyndon B's. Both were good selling singles and both contained slightly different versions from the DLB's debut Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables.

Seeing as there are a lot of metal afficionados on the board I thought I would dig through and find a killer riff for you. Instantly recognisable to anyone who likes the roots of metal. Those who are familiar with the lyrics will surely know this one and its lead guitarist. Whilst the presence of the Hammond organ Steve Winwood style does date the song to an era and its riff is a post modern cliche victim of its own success, it should be on this thread, There are quite a few performances available on youtube but I have a fondness for this one.

Frank Zappa and The Mothers were at the best place around.

A semi-semi ralted piece of Lulz - I googled to see if the guitarist of Killswitch Engage is Jewish, and somehow found a stormfront post where people try to compile a least of Jews in rock.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far.

If we may contribute. This was written by die Juden John Kander und Texter Fred Ebb, Perhaps they knew the truth?
From the film "Cabaret" which does show a rather decadent society of the Weimar Republic. In 1933 the breath of fresh air need by Deutschland was realized. The people could have adapted but did not.
Soz here is the English Version
