You're upset? How do you think Bannon and the hard-core Trumpies are feeling right now? The Tea Partiers?

But have no fear, Mr Clarity is on the scene to make sense of it all: "Donald Trump Denies He Made A Deal With Dems On Immigration: “No deal was made last night,” he said." So . . . there's not a deal but Donny thinks there should have been one?!?!?! Or something . . .

- had Huckchuckle state on his behalf that he will sign the congressional resolution denouncing “White nationalists, White supremacists, the Ku Klux Klan, neo-Nazis, and other hate groups” (the resolution does not mention counter-protesters)

- said he wants Congress to proceed to “legalize” DACA without linkage to his Wall (“He said, ‘We don’t have to tie a wall to this.”)

- told a group of legislators that he is open to fixes to Obamacare to stabilize the program (meanwhile pushing repeal & replace efforts and regulatory gutting of the ACA)

- signaled working with Democrats on changes to the tax code leaving “the wealthy where they are, if we have to go higher, we will” (for this to be true, Trump will have to jettison his own plan, released in July)

- is having dinner with Pelosi and Schumer to discuss taxes and DACA
All of which lends credibility to the (far-out) rumor that somebody has been putting tranquilizers into his Diet Coke. Actually, I'd bet that in Trump's so-called mind, there is a plan here to stick his thumb in the eye of Ryan and McConnell and get them back in line. If they cave, he'll jettison Schumer and Pelosi within minutes.

Top story in Breitbart this morning: "Amnesty Don"

Ann Coulter putting this into perspective: "Not to keep score or anything, but the American Revolution was fought and won over vastly lesser perfidy." Hannity pretty much blames the non-Trump GOP: "Weak R's have betrayed voters. @POTUS needs to stay the course and keep his promises or it's over!" LOL

Personally I am hopeful that the dueling "interpretations" of the dinner meeting on DACA, and incipient rancor concerning such, brings a speedy end to the bipartisan turn, AKA Dems providing support and cover for Anus Mouth.

Schumer clarifies the clarifications: Trump's tweets are not inconsistent with outcomes of last night's meetings, he says, the key points being

- Trump's willingness now to "support enshrining DACA protections into law, and encourage the House and Senate to act" and
- Trump's agreement to de-linkage of the Wall and DACA ("While both sides agreed that the wall would not be any part of this agreement, the President made clear he intends to pursue it at a later time, and we made clear we would continue to oppose it")

Oh for {!#%@}'s sake, why? http://www.snopes.com/trump-raft-harvey/
Did Trump Assist Rescuers in Pulling Harvey Victims from Floodwaters?

A doctored photograph appears to show the President on a raft in Texas saving a flood victim....

...The image, unsurprisingly, was digitally altered. The original can be found on CNN’s web site, and actually depicts three rescuers with the Austin Fire Department reaching out to help a man clinging to a chain link fence out of the water....
And another one: http://www.snopes.com/trump-saved-two-c ... ne-harvey/
Trump Saved Two Cats After Hurricane Harvey?

A photograph that purportedly shows President Trump rescuing two cats from a flooded area in Texas was digitally manipulated.
I suspect these are the same types of people who fake pictures of flying saucers to try to prove "UFOs R real".

As so often is the case with serious matters, Trump and the WH have degenerated into complete nonsense this morning in trying to spin what Trump agreed to last night and where he wants to head of DACA. The spectacle is quite enjoyable.

This must be why he’s trying so hard to spin this another way. But he can’t disown those last few tweets, in which he appears to have learned that the Dreamers are making positive contributions to the country and that it is not their fault they are here without documentation. (What was his first clue?)

On top of it all, he has signed off on a statement solemnly condemning Nazis (my, what a radical he's become!) and the KKK without equivocating them to Antifa. I'm putting some popcorn on the range right away and looking forward to the headline proclaiming BANNON STRICKEN WITH APOPLECTIC STROKE.

At least ONE wall is now crumbling, the wall of racist support for Trump. But he's not going to pick up support from the mainstream. At this point he has too solid a record of craziness for that. I think and hope that he's toast and that the GOP will now purge him.

At the same time, I agree with scrmbldggs that a certain dullness has settled over the place, even on this thread, now that he's (temporarily, I'm sure) not doing outrageous things. Do you suppose he'll now walk back his position on climate change and decide to embrace science?

There's even a call from a far right loon to have a ceremonial burning of MAGA swag.

At the same time McConnell is playing hard ball, saying that congressional leadership is aligned with Trump but, hey, Trump needs to send over his (nonexistent) DACA proposal.

Look - when I said that I miss Crazy Trump, I say it from the perspective of someone who wants to see him forced out of office before the end of his term. With Crazy Trump it seemed like it would only be a matter of weeks or months before he would cognitively deteriorate to the extent where he would be incapable of government. With Compromise Trump, he seems to have been given a new lease on political life and this hombre is not happy.

The antifas' gift to the far right, in the words of Anus Mouth today, from aboard Air Force One on his meeting yesterday with Tim Scott:
We had a great talk yesterday. I think especially in light of the advent of Antifa, if you look at what’s going on there. You have some pretty bad dudes on the other side also and essentially that’s what I said. Now because of what’s happened since then with Antifa. When you look at really what’s happened since Charlottesville, a lot of people are saying and people have actually written, ‘Gee, Trump may have a point.’ I said there’s some very bad people on the other side also. But we had a great conversation. And he has legislation, which I actually like very much, the concept of which I support, to get people into certain areas and building and constructing and putting people to work. I told him yesterday that’s a concept I can support very easily.
No harm, from Trump's pov, in signing a congressional resolution that says that the root issue in Charlottesville was the racist right AND continuing to equate the dumb-{!#%@} in masks and black gear who oppose the racist right with the racist right. And, for this gift, and Trump's spin on it, the Richard Spencers of this world owe much to the antifas.

I have mixed feelings about Schumer's motives - and Pelosi's - in their dealings with Trump: however, from an "output" pov, I like what is happening. Trump's coalition is rattled, Ann Coulter is calling for impeachment, Bannon is going nuts, there's yet another shiv stuck in the back of Ryan-McConnell, some in "the base" are rethinking Trump, Trump wobbles and pouts and brags and spews unadulterated - and confused - BS, the WH is tied up trying to tidy up a {!#%@} - and Schumer sits back serenely and enjoys the spectacle.

The cost to the Dems in one sense is zero: they don't disagree on border security (whilst not prioritizing it and not running a xenophobic movement on it) and they protect the Dreamers.

At the risk of stating the obvious, the risk is that Trump/Kelly are able to hold things together and this all normalizes his presidency. But, this is Trump so . . . .

Hasn't the position moved on to: "reimbursed for by Mexico"?

I have already seen 3-4 reports of "surveys" where the Trump hard core idiot base (down to 12% now) has already signaled they will excuse no wall being built. It will only show Trumps rational recognition of the corruption of all those who want to destroy America.

Easy, peasy.

Reading that the notion came to me if Trump was the price to be borne for driving a stake through the heart of the Clintons' political careers, it was well almost worth it.
That's about the way I see it. (See edit.)

Well, as a good businessman, Trump should now modify the hats, removing the GR, so they read MAKE AMERICA EAT AGAIN, and sell them at a loss to McDonald's and Burger King. MAEA!!

I was surprised to find no screaming headline in Breitbart this morning defending free speech on campus and blasting academic snowflakes in the case of Harvard's withdrawal of the fellowship offered to Chelsea Manning. Not to mention calling out the pernicious influence of the deep state on our freedom. Go figure.

I'm behind the curve on this one. I heard only this morning that the former CIA guy had quit Harvard in protest. Will he now decide to stay? I wonder.

Ah, here's the link.

Snowflakes.

On this theme, I am somewhat concerned about the RT and other stuff: vile as I find some of the stuff, propaganda though it may be, there's an audience for it, quite obviously, and the Democrats are getting perilously close to overstepping the First Amendment.
