Surprise, surprise. Apparently a court ruled that Congress still may fulfill its constitutional duties, Rump and Reptiles notwithstanding.

Seems said Reptilians deem courts (and Democrats) as ignorant of set laws and rules as they themselves appear to be. Clearly yet another case of projection. :heh:

please, people, think; do we really want the Democrats to reestablish here and now what was once behind an iron curtain? as Glenn Beck says, “Jason is coming for you and he has a hammer and a sickle.” And he's dressed like Nancy Pelosi this time. And congressman Chris Stewart wisely warns that the Green New Deal is the communists' Trojan horse, whereby the government will become involved in people's lives, which is the same thing as communism.

If our Republican government can do one thing, it will be to prevent this socialist takeover the Democrats are plotting. The government should go all out and use maximum power to stop these people!

the civil war in Chicago:

1. a Lakeview temple was firebombed over the weekend, the Molotov cocktails burning but causing no damage to the building
2. reformer Lori Lightfoot has taken office as mayor
3. without sense of irony, today's The Atlantic website features a lead piece penned by Rahm Emanuel on "It’s Time to Hold American Elites Accountable for Their Abuses: If Democrats want to address simmering middle-class anger, they need to deliver justice"; Emanuel was Obama's chief of staff when Obama decided not to hold "American elite accountable" and went on as mayor of Chicago to maintain the city government as a handout machine for elites
4. outside Chicago, downstate and in rural Illinois, two movements - New Illinois and Illinois Separation - are promoting the idea of kicking Red Chicago out of Illinois and making the city the 51st state ("Everything that matters to the people in my district is under attack. The issue of life, the issue of marriage, the school curriculum. Everything these people hold near and dear to their hearts - our hearts - is under attack by far left legislators from the city.")

Methinks Bloatus is rattled by Biden, you can always tell Trump's fears when the lying and projection start: “He's not from Pennsylvania. I guess he was born here, but he left you folks. He left you for another state. Remember that, please. . . . He left you for another state, and he didn't take care of you, because he didn't take care of your jobs. He let other countries come in and rip off America. That doesn't happen anymore."

Joe Biden biography, which (in another story) Biden himself falsifies: "In 1955, when he was 13 years old, the family moved to Mayfield, Delaware" . . . how could he? At 13 he should have been saving jobs in Scranton FSS, not abandoning Pennsylvania for Delaware.

Has the controversial el Trumpo got a nickname for Biden yet to broadcast over to the thumb twitching Twitterati?

As to Trump and the "WWC," an interesting story on the opioid crisis ran in WaPo today:
In 2017, the first year of the Trump presidency, a record 28,869 people died from synthetic-opioid-related overdoses, a 46.4 percent increase from the year before. Most were from fentanyl, which is 50 times more powerful than heroin. Estimates for the first eight months of 2018, the most recent available, show that an additional 20,537 Americans died — a toll on pace to exceed the previous year’s. . . .

Sharfstein and other public health experts also note that the administration is seeking to repeal the Affordable Care Act and cut $1.5 trillion over 10 years from Medicaid. More than 500,000 people addicted to opioids could lose their drug treatment coverage if the ACA is repealed, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. The proposed Medicaid cuts could further reduce coverage.

Trump officials said they are making progress against the epidemic on a range of fronts, including interdiction, prosecution and treatment . . . Conway said Trump views his handling of the crisis as a “legacy issue” . . .
Only Trump can fix it?

I had lunch with a friend today who is both a Democrat and strong supporter of Israel (Saturday night I spent time with an old friend - and learned that he is one of 150 wealthiest people in the US, a financial backer of Club for Growth, Scott Walker, and other such causes . . . sometimes my head spins!). My friend does not support Bibi, at all, and feels that the Republicans have been very bad for Israel. He is convinced, as a longstanding Maddowian, that Russia elected Trump and that he is Putin's pawn. I changed the subject to the Red Sox.

We returned to politics, after a bit of baseball chatter. My friend really wishes Biden hadn't run but asked me to assure him that I'd vote for Biden if he's nominated. We were eating outside at a Cuban restaurant. I pointed to an old, beat-up red subcompact car parked nearby and told my friend that I'd not only vote for Biden but I'd vote for the red car if the Democrats in their wisdom nominated it. For his part my friend said he'd vote for a discarded, rotten watermelon over Trump.

My friend is for Harris in the nominating contest but "gets" Warren, he's really down on Beto and Mayor Pete. I agreed with him on his reasoning for supporting Harris: like Katie Porter, she's a hard-ass questioner, well prepared, skillful and tough in the clinches. We both expressed a lot of worry about Biden standing up to Trump when the blows start coming.

Amazing how successful the President has been in pursuing his policies… Success in giving tax breaks to the rich. Not so much in trade, international relations, working with congress, upholding the law and defending the constitution, etc. So now he is going to pout and not work with congress? Please, yes please – I hope he holds his breath too. MAGA indeed.

It seems we are hosting him this week, and our esteemed prime minister, Abe, wants to make a good impression. He’ll be at the sumo tournament to see the winner receive the trophies, so they will clear a large section of prime real-estate seating to ensure that nobody throws a beer. Shucks, they should have just put him in the emperor’s enclosure – well protected there, and I am sure our emperor wouldn’t mind, given that Trump is well above him. And why not give those trophies to Trump instead? I’ll bet Abe didn’t think of that.

Here's why Bloatus had a temper tantrum in lieu of today's infrastructure meeting . . . from a Reuters story on the eve of the talks: U.S. Democrats to press Trump on paying for infrastructure boost:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer said in a joint statement late on Tuesday that Trump in April had agreed to provide “ideas for pay-fors,” a term used in Washington for new taxes or government spending reductions.

“On Wednesday, we look forward to hearing the President’s plan for how to pay for this package,” they said.
Unable to present even a semblance of a plan to how to pay, Bloatus preferred to create mayhem, misdirect, and rant to cover up incompetence and cluelessness . . .

. . . and the NY Times wrote in its piece on the fiasco that "The confrontation came on a day when talk of a possible impeachment drive raised temperatures on both sides of the aisle." (Actually Pelosi met with, and quieted, restive Democrats to knock down impeachment ideas . . . ) Underscoring the paper of record's acceptance of Trump's excuse-making, the headline said upfront, "Trump, Angered by ‘Phony’ Inquiries, Blows Up Meeting With Pelosi and Schumer," making the Times' top story an exercise in amplifying the lies and BS of the ridiculous buffoon.

. . . and the NY Times wrote in its piece on the fiasco that "The confrontation came on a day when talk of a possible impeachment drive raised temperatures on both sides of the aisle." Ha, ha........when Trump gets dead and buried, they should leave one foot sticking up out of the dirt, BECAUSE: "I don't do coverups."

I mean....... you gotta give credit where its due. One definition that is universal for "crazy" is if you would do the criminal act "right in front of a policeman." ie: you truly don't know/understand that the action is "wrong" or against the law.

"I don't do coverups!"==>Tah Daaaaaaa. The Aristocrats.

Should probably make Trump wear as well the traditional sumo rig in order to attend....
