Whitey Bulger.
You all probably notice that his killer is another member of our tribe, from the kind of members that make us all Greeks proud. When I saw his name, it striked me, 'Fotios Freddy Geas', I was like 'oh God, we're again on the news for the wrong reasons'.

'Fotios', or nickname 'Fotis' is a typical Greek name.
And the ending 'eas' is a typical ending for Greek surnames, for example 'Georgouleas' shortened to 'Geas'.

His brother is also a career criminal, as I read.

His daughter wrote a letter in 2016:

On this day in 1991 Freddie Mercury passed away.

George H.W Bush

The most underrated American president in history. A fine statesman betrayed by the ignorant public. R.I.P

Why in this forum?
The job of a skeptic is to investigate the unexplained; not to explain the uninvestigated.

The perfect three minute pop song.

Born between 1950 and 1965? That generation are all leaving the building earlier it seems and will it seems not be making old bones, unlike the War generation that went before them.

My son wrote me a very nice email this morning reminding me, first, that the Buzzcocks remain among his favorite bands, and, second, that he saw them in the '90s (whilst I never did catch them).

I did catch them, last year. I was on the guest list but whose guest list I never did find out.

They were supported by The Professionals, Cookie on drums but not the Sire on his Gibson guitar regrettably.

They were great, even the bearded Shelley.

Afterwards I got the set list from the manager.

Here it is.

I don't have the jammed version of Fiction Romance that Jonesy played on SM with Buzzcocks but I do have this piece of classic British Punk. I'm posting it really for an old friend who died today and who loved Slaughter and was a boot boy to boot himself and a hard nut whose younger brother was never shook down at skool again. Not after the scumbabs found out that Steve was this big bruvver who would not back down

I was privileged to be there today when he checked out of this rock after enough suffering and fighting.

Wearing boots and short hair cuts
We will kick you in the gut
But no luck they've all grown up
They drink tea in a cup
Some get married and settle down
Others they leave for a foreign town
Fighting gangs every night
We use sticks hit 'em in the Kite
(C) Where have all the boot boys gone ?
Hammy, Jacko, Boots and John

Where have all the boot boys gone ?
It looks like I'm the only one. The one !!!!!
Friday came we go to a dance hall
Battering stuff we have a ball
We don't know what we've done
We go see United coz we're having fun
We get released on 50 quid bail
But I know I'll end up in jail
I was a leader I was so proud
I hung with a gang, what a crowd

(C)
Now its been five years or more
I'm a skin don't know what for
I don't know what I am
I don't see or give a d***
I must stop this M.O.D
I must try, try and be me
I must listen. I must try
I must move. Move or die !

C'mon. Do ya wanna scrap ?
Get Ready then. Where have all the boot boys gone ?

Smooth sail Steve.

Came across a documentary called “Produced by George Martin.” It is on Amazon Prime for those who have it.
