The Great Language Game

If the red house has blue shutters and the green house has red shutters, what's this section for?

The Great Language Game

Post by Austin Harper » Sun Feb 23, 2014 9:58 pm

I just found a fun new game online: The Great Language Game
You get a short audio sample of a language being spoken. You then have to pick which language it is from a list, starting with two options and slowly working up to more. You get 50 points for each correct selection and you have 3 lives, losing one each time you're wrong.

Amongst the thousands of languages spoken across the world, here are just eighty. How many can you distinguish between?

I got 700 points the first time around misidentifying three Oceanic languages.

After death:

Not quite...

The correct answer was Tagalog
Final score: 650

650 for me too. I was surprised how many could be eliminated because I thought they "sounded" wrong.
