A cost of creationsim.

Post by Frank Hoffman » Sun Nov 10, 2013 7:34 pm

I just started reading Dan Lieberman's new book "The Story of the Human Body: Evolution, Health, and Disease", and as I considered the points he was making I started to think that if I was a creationist, I would be missing all this information, all these insights, all the wonderful ideas which have the fact of evolution as their basis… and I felt sorry for those whose limited viewpoint closes them off from so much intellectual joy.

I must admit. I find the fight between humans and disease as really really interesting reading. I'm never going to understand "the full picture" but if it's enjoyable to read, then it doesn't matter. I'll just keep reading for fun.

"Ooooohhhh I didn't know that" and "So that's why this does that!" and "I'm not quite getting it, but I think I understand the principle".

It's very like the continual battle of offense vs. defense in military hardware.

It's exactly like that.

Kreigsmarine launches fast cruiser. Royal Navy launches anti fast cruiser destroyer.
Virus evolves new protein to attack liver cells. Human body evolves new liver cell membrane protein. and on and on and on we go........

My interest in the evolution of German armour has always been an evolutionary model. The environment is the battlefield, the mutations are the tank designers, the common ancestor branches the marks or ausfuhrung of tank models. If a model of tank doesn't work it becomes extinct or evolves into something else with a completely different purpose.

I was thinking more of armor and shell, but that works.

I am on a mission from god to kill the little {!#%@} (the germs I mean) with a good scotch. So far so good.
