here is another idea that has to be wrong . motor bearings should use oil instead of grease .

That was a fantastic machine. I can see why you like looking at these videos. I am amazed at the detailed work it does with the lettering, all by the same machine.

I dont know much about motorz that big. All mine are under 5hp and hav bronz bushingz, not ball bearingz, so uze oil.

The spindlz on my 2 main machinez are roller bearingz and I uze grease and oil.

I googled `over greasing bearings` and see that one of the problems is having the grease/oil splattered on the windings. I suppose if the motor then overheats it could cause a nasty fire. Oil might tend to drain off better than grease, but I would go with the manufacturer recommendation for the motor in question.

This thread is about machining. We are not interested in your favourite videos of young boys.

I am not interested in your collection of videos, of young boys.

Your need concerning seeking attention, from males on this forum is getting a bit too obvious.

Added a takometer to my Hardinj lathe. Sumtimez its useful to no how fast its spinning.
HoRDINJ TaK copy.jpg
Its the same unit I hav for the tak and speedometer on my car, exept the 12 - 24 volt version. Dirt cheap on Ebay, so I got haf a dozen. Its directly reading the spindle, so it duznt matter if I ajust the speed with the mekanikl belt ratio ajuster or the electronic speed control.
