Can we start a Buddhism-bashing thread?
I guess any religion is fair game.

I was turned off Buddhism by an article I read in high school, describing how great it would be if everyone were Buddhist. The author described how some day, firemen on their way to a fire, would stop to admire a flock of geese flying overhead. I cringed at the thought of human beings burning to death while firemen were bird-watching.

Of course there's much more to it than that, to be fair, but it did leave that impression on me at the time.

The job of a skeptic is to investigate the unexplained; not to explain the uninvestigated.

Every thread is a Buddhism-bashing thread. And none of them.

Is that profound? Or antifound? It's so hard to tell.

There is no statement so absurd that it has not been uttered by some philosopher. - Cicero
