Sexy time?

With enough prior warning... but alas, we were shaking a few seconds before we were warned of an impending earthquake. The epicenter was about 70km away as the worm crawls.

Are you trying to get us banned off the innerwebs? At least put a R18+ sticker on that. We can't have kids seeing biology.

But yeah, as a kid I've seen worms rooting. (I spent a lot of time outside turning over rocks and looking at bugs. Then crushing them. Or burning them with a magnifying glass. Or drowning interesting ones in vials of ethanol for my collection) And they can change sex, too. Where that nobbly bit is, closer to front or end, determines their current sex. Or they can be both.

Snails are the worst, man. Have you ever seen snails have sex?

They're both sexes at the same time. They're equipped with both bits. So when they have sex it's like a four-way.

But some are also equipped with barbed harpoons. So as they're passing each other in the night, slowly, and one decides this is a sexy snail I'd like to shag, it shoots its harpoon into the flesh of the other one so it can't get away. And then they {!#%@}. Sometimes the harpooned one will harpoon the other one if it really likes the first one.

After they're satisfied the harpoon breaks off, and they slowly go their separate ways as if nothing happened. The harpoon is gradually expelled.

Talk about hate sex!

I hate snails. They were eating my vegie patch, so one damp night I went out and stomped on a thousand of the little {!#%@}. Funny thing is, snails ate the dead snails. They're not just herbivorous.

Yep. I bought the 152 hour porn film "Snail does Dallas". I wouldn't say it was a fast paced film.

The War on Snails is a battle that never ends. We have to keep those invertebrate molluscs from invading our veggie patch on the daily. Our tomatoes depend on our ever vigilance.

Still getting my new computer set up on win 10, Intel, and Gigabyte motherboard. Trying to fill as many headers and what not. I'm not that interested but there is a controllable LED header on the board....so....yeah...I have to buy an LED strip to decorate my machine. After I learn about it....I assume it will be off most of the time. Re colors though....I have one red led fan and it bugs me. I'll probably replace it with the blue LED fan from my old case. the colors do matter, and I do like having some indication the computer is on.

Hmmmm…..I could see a blue tooth led display picture hanging on my wall.....controlled by the computer? Kinetic Art don't you know?

BUT...Gigabyte offers a program to "speed up the internet" for the gamers. "c fos speed" so I installed it....who doesn't want a faster internet? As happens all too often....it actually caused my internet connection to stall every 1-2 minutes. Maybe it was faster when it was connected...….but there was zero speed when disconnected. Maybe there were additional settings that needed to be found and tinkered with...…….but its easier to just delete the program. So glad my brain connected the back connection experience with "my most recently installed program". I hope this ability to see patterns and make connections continues. I can see it being missed all too easily.

In my experience 50% of new tech/programs simply don't work. The promises do move product though...…….

One of my cousins let his great-grandson fire his new .50 cal. sniper rifle. The recoil cracked two vertebrae in the kid's neck. Waiting to see if he'll be paralyzed.

I got out some old hdmi to component converters last week to record something and SOB the unit did not work. Good thing I had a spare back up...…..wtf??? It doesn't work either...."whats happening?" So I went on line to look for newer and better units....all x3 the cost.....but I noticed they were 5 volt products. After the hiatus, I forgot they needed less than the standard 12 volt supplies that most of my peripherals use....so "I assume" I burned them out? RATS. My brain (memory) if failing me more and more often like this. Easy to understand....but would I have done this 20 years ago....and 20 years from now will I even be able to figure out the issue????

Life.......what ya gonna do???? Got to drive to Walmart tomorrow and buy the unit for 1/2 what I paid for it 3 years ago. What irritates me is the plug size is not different enough to be rejected. I think "the standard" is that they do/should....but why stand in the way of selling more units to those who can't remember the fine print?

UPS delivered a package to me by mistake. 3rd time in as many months...and third time...I walked it 4 doors down to the correct address. 3 different addresses but all starting with "5" so...my house is on the shady side of the street, so it makes sense. First two good folks said thanks. Today, the old crone wanted to cross examine me as if I had stolen it.

I figure: projection.

It is hot! Close to 10,000 hospitalized for heat stroke today, and 14 deaths. Even having an AC is no guarantee, as some olders simply don’t use them and die indoors. Even though I am careful to hydrate I still drop 2 kilos in sweat and take a couple of hours to regain it.

I came home one day to find a dozen large boxes on my front porch. That door was unusable due to the pile of stuff from "The Bedroom Store". I checked the address on the boxes. Not my address. I called UPS. They said they'd pick up the items. Called back two days later. Their records said they'd delivered it to the right address. I pointed out the address on the boxes didn't match my address. They said they'd pick up the items. Two days later I was debating whether or not to call a junk man to haul the stuff away. Then I decided to Google the address on the boxes. Pertinent part follows.

Me: 2055 Loveland Drive.
Boxes: 2055 Love lane.

The drivers had taken the first hit as the correct one without looking at the boxes. Luckily for the people who paid for the stuff I was willing to drive about a mile and ask them to come get their stuff. UPS never did show up.

Stand in a 100km 48C wind at zero humidity with a bushfire all around you, and call it a family barbeque.

Yup... 40C is above 25C, and with 98% humidity it gets funny fast. Not so funny for the parents of a first grader who walked on unshaded pavement for about a kilo to collect insects in a park without trees and then back to school, and promptly died.

“The entire tradition of the Church has firmly upheld that a woman must have received the gift of virginity – that is, both material and formal (physical and spiritual) – in order to receive the consecration of virgins,” the statement reads.

Da fuq is "the gift of virginity"? Isn't that was bad Muslims get 72 of when they murder enough people?

I reckon it's funny when people start dropping dead when it gets over 25C.

Yup... 40C is above 25C, and with 98% humidity it gets funny fast. Not so funny for the parents of a first grader who walked on unshaded pavement for about a kilo to collect insects in a park without trees and then back to school, and promptly died.

Yeah, it ain't the heat alone that kills you. I was brushing up on this stuff yesterday. Wikipedia has a handy chart on their Heat Index page:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heat_index

At a humidity of 95%, any temperature over 31C is considered "extremely dangerous".

Ooh, Wikipedia has an equation, too!

Must be millennials driving the boxes around....don't have the attention span to read the second number. BUT I POST, because I got another delivery today. It was 103 and the Sun was too hot at 200PM when I saw them on my porch...but by 830PM it was a cool and shady 95 Degrees so I walked the item down to my neighbor. She was much friendlier tonight. I advised her to call UPS and let them know. She said she would. I give it a 50/50 chance.
