The link shows Putin engaged in outdoor events... mostly fishing in beautiful Siberean countryside. ((It is beautiful...in the summer.)) I had never thought to go spear fishing in a fresh water lake. Interesting how we form such divisions in our minds.

Putin's enjoyment of the outdoors.....gives him such a light touch of humanity. He could be a full time baddie?

I thought of freshwater spearfishing back in the day, but whenever I thought of it I was told it was illegal wherever I happened to be at the time.

Currently it's legal in Manitoba, wherever angling is legal, except for certain species. In Ontario, you can spear fish for only two species and only with a spear, not a speargun.
