D'Souza in decline

Postby Lausten » Thu Oct 25, 2012 2:28 pm

Demise of Douza

Some good news in the battle for a better conversation. The rise of a young intellectual, catapulted by his ability to spout rhetoric, seems to be over. The article doesn't spend much time bashing D'Souza, that's just too easy, but it puts this event in a broader context of what conservatives need to be doing.

Until you make somebody do the work, your institutions will never have anything worthwhile to offer, and will always be relegated to some kind of parallel universe where no one takes them seriously. The absolute worst thing you can do for your twenty-somethings is give them promotions that outstrip their work, just because they are superficially useful to your ultimate political/financial goals.

When King's College is drawing a line on what passes for real discussion, maybe connections between the religious right, academia, politics and Fox News are crumbling.

It says only qualified people should be presidents of colleges. Do you think we should let anyone do that?
