Podcast on the Dyatlov Pass Incident

Postby danny_g34 » Tue Jun 05, 2012 12:32 pm

It would be great if MonsterTalk did a podcast on the Dyatlov Pass Incident, in which 9 Russian hikers met their deaths in the USSR under strange circumstances in 1959. It has been the centre of much mystery and speculation with theories for the incident ranging from the paranormal, to secret military testing, to a simple avalanche. It would be great to hear a skeptics take on the facts and evidence.

Here is the wikipedia link, detailing the facts of the incident:

Thanks

Great idea but I don't think Blake, Karen, or Ben read these boards. You're best off sending your suggestion to blake@monstertalk.org.

Thanks Austin

I emailed Blake, and here is his reply:

Thanks - I don't know of any monster lore tied to that tragedy.
But if you'd like the skeptic's POV, Brian Dunning has done a good overview on his Skeptoid podcast.

But thanks for the suggestion! I've had to stop recording while my day-job is on a big time crunch, but we're recording an episode tonight that SHOULD be out next week if all goes well. Thanks for listening!

-Blake
