How about a Review of Impossible Cases?

Postby Bart Stewart » Tue Feb 23, 2010 2:23 am

I hate to be a killjoy, but this is the Skeptic site. How about an episode dealing with the fact that a lot of the cryptozoological cases are just total hooey? Like the Thetis Lake fish man? And Bigfoot sightings in urban, industrialized areas? And Chupacabra, for that matter. (How many different descriptions have been floated for that one so far? Talk about an ever-changing monster.) The ultimate may still be "Mothman." I think an episode about the psychology of people who want to believe in impossible fairy tales could be interesting.

There are still areas like oceans and deep rain forests where new life forms may exist, and you could continue to deal with that. But as for some of this stuff, come on. The real story is - why does anybody believe it?
