I really do hope to do a giant arachnid episode. It might depend on finding the right entomologist - but I know there have been some recent studies regarding high-oxygen content living conditions to see how large they can get insects to grow. It would be nice to hear more on that particular research.

And I know arachnids aren't insects. ;)

What's a spider expert called? An arachnologist? (too obvious)

Perhaps too obvious, yet also correct.

It's been almost a year since the first suggestion. Any progress on giant spiders?

I walked through a man-sized web today (created by a thumb -sized spider). It got me to free associating, and I remembered those pictures of 2-foot long camel spiders. And giant scorpions.

Maybe you should contact the Skepchicks and see if Bug Girl has a spider-friend!
