Bigfoot marketing

Postby idoubtit » Sat Oct 24, 2009 12:29 am

I'd like to see how many things we can find with a Bigfoot/Sasquatch theme.

I found this today at Target - recycled paper notebooks. Says "Sasquatch Paper with a past, present and future. Leave only tracks."

Products at http://www.find-sasquatch.com/index.cfm

Had to buy two.

Also the Sasqwatch Watch: http://www.sasqwatchwatch.com/
(This is horrible but makes the same point.)

I was reminded of how ubiquitous Sasquatch themes are by Joe Nickell's presentation at TAM7 - I watched the live stream.

Speaking of Bigfoot marketting... Joe Nickell touched upon it in his talk at TAM7.

I talk about it in my latest post in mmy TAM diary.

I found lots of things with Bigfoot themes, but this was my favorite.

A company named Shadowbox put out several large (~10 inch) cryptid figures back in the '80's. I've got their Bigfoot, Yeti & Nessie (but no camera). Worth looking for if you're a collector.

Probably quite pricey now, I'll wager.

I was working in a small store who was selling clothes and once, they brought t-shirts with an angry Big Foot image. In two days we sold 30 t-shirts. The conclusion is that Bigfoot has a nice image all over the world. People love Bigfoot.
