Mystery Solved: It was Algae

Postby DoctorAtlantis » Sat Oct 24, 2009 12:21 am

OK - technically Algae isn't plankton. But whatever.

When I saw cryptomundo running a story about a giant blob in the water I was thinking - why are they covering this? Haven't they ever seen a bio-bloom before?

But it was just algae. (Or at least that's what the government wants you to believe!)

Yes, I had hoped for something more interesting. See how ignorant news reporters are of the world?

I should know all about that government thing. According to Neal Burgstahler, I'm a disinformation agent for the NSA; which he posts all over the internet. If you don't know who Neal Burgstahler is, he arrogantly promotes the existence of an interdimensionally travelling Bigfoot.
I probably don't believe you.

How utterly convenient.

I don't know who has primacy for that theory; I know Jon-Erik Beckjord had the same idea, but John Keel did too and his work goes back a ways.

To me it's a bit like saying "They're not haunted by ghosts - it's demons!" (An allegation I've actually heard many, many times.)

Replacing one non-falsifiable hypothesis with another is moving no closer to a solution.

Neal's just another colorful character who jumped on the transdimensional band wagon. He also preaches invisibility and shape changing, and has some very entertaining conspiracy theories.
I probably don't believe you.

Aha! I was just thinking about this algae bloom yesterday while eating some frozen waffles.

Thanks for posting it. I'm very lazy and apathetic and may never have bothered to find out the truth on my own. (I kid you not. I didn't even toast the waffles yesterday, that's how lazy I am.)

Oh, the algae bloom? I just flushed it down the toilet. It will probably grow in my skeptic tank into a blob and then it'll eat everybody.
