The amazing Herman Wouk

When you think that there are US Presidents 30 years younger than this guy who can't begin to express themselves half as clearly, this becomes inspirational!
"I once befriended two little girls from Estonia, who had narrowly escaped death from starvation in a famine. They lived in my family, and of course had plenty to eat. But they spent all their leisure visiting neighbouring farms and stealing potatoes, which they hoarded. Rockefeller, who in his infancy had experienced great poverty, spent his adult life in a similar manner."

I've always like Herman Wouk.

My favorite book by him is City Boy...a kind of coming of age tale set in the Bronx during the 1920's. It was written in 1949, and held up very well.

Wouk has just turned 102.
