And a hottie livestreamed herself driving drunk. The cops tracked her down. Her car had been running on a flat for at least ten minutes.

Dumb hunter was in the woods, plenty to eat there if you're prepared to go into the woods in the first place. But lots of people think they're watching TV when they're actually in the wild. Idiots.

You don't need to eat in the woods. We can go weeks without food. Water is all you need.
Use the time instead to get yourself out or rescued. Survivorman taught us that.

Bear Grylls only taught us how to get killed.

I saw somebody squeezing "liquid" out of elephant dung. Killed any possible interest I had in the show. I prefer reality to Reality TV.

If you ever find yourself in a position where you have to squeeze water out of elephant dung, chances are you're not going to last much longer anyway.

When he ended up in hospital for weeks from eating a rancid coyote carcass (who knows what killed the coyote) it ranked right up there with the guy on the reality show Naked and Afraid, who ate an unknown mushroom on the pretense that "survival demands it" only to end up in hospital in a coma shortly afterwards.

P.S. When Bear Grylls came upon an old rancid coyote carcass that still had meat on it, it should have been a clue that no scavenger was willing to risk eating it.

I waited until they were nibbling on the ragged bits of flesh around my wounds and grabbed them. Then it was Gollum time.

One week without water is about the MAX. 3-4 days typical. I wonder, DOES ANYONE KNOW, if you are stuck without water, should you stop eating anything at all to preserve your precious bodily fluids?

On issue, I've read several newspaper accounts of people stuck in snow in remote areas with nothing but water. They uniformly lose one pound a day until they die all at about one month without food. Never understood those people....they have gas in the car and trees all around. Good scenario for a smoke signal?

Besides - if there is more than one, they can have/be long pig.

But I`d guess that most people would fail at getting gas out of a car - unless they just happened to have the right tools. And trees are quite difficult to get burning....

Plus most idiots would start a forest fire and die. We travel roads that cling to the side of steep hills routinely, and if you wind up at the bottom of one of those hills you may never be spotted. I make sure the vehicles have up-to-date survival gear every six months.

"The smart thing to do" might be a bit of a tall order for someone who managed to leave a good road and get themselves trapped on some god-forsaken goat-trail.

My sledgehammers are 8, 16, and 25 pounds - the long handled ones anyway. I don`t see how a dog can be beaten with even the smallest sledgehammer and still be alive. I am wondering if the word `handle` hasn`t been left out.
