The Death of Fake-Bigfoot?

Postby Alexander941 » Sun Jan 11, 2015 12:13 pm

Some Years ago i read somewhere that someone who used a Bigfoot-Costume to scare or prank people, was shot because he was mistaken for a giant mythical ape.
I wasnt able to find anything on that, just some articles about a guy who was run over while wearing a bigfoot-Suit.
Any Ideas where this happend?

Are you perhaps thinking of Rick Dyer?

http://doubtfulnews.com/2014/03/rick-dy ... n-on-hoax/

Rick Dyer, the bigfoot hoaxer, has admitted he hoaxed Hank, the bigfoot he claims he shot and put on display....

...No more lies, tall tales or wild goose chases to mess with the haters!...

He hoaxed a bigfoot body in 2008, and another in 2012: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Dyer

Both rubber suits put on display, but neither contained the actual hoaxer.

Ever notice footers are damn eager to shoot what may be the sole surviving Big Foot in order to claim bragging rights?

This brings up a suggestion: Anybody who hunts Big Feets should have to wear a Big Foot costume that can only be opened (for removal) by a member of CSI.

Or Omar Pineda?

http://gawker.com/routine-bigfoot-hunt- ... 1458934661

A Sasquatch hunting expedition in Oklahoma ended in tragedy this weekend when one hunter accidentally shot another in the back. A subsequent investigation led to three arrests: the trigger-happy hunter, the trigger-happy hunter's father, and the trigger-happy hunter's wife....

...After an investigation, the 21-year-old was arrested for reckless conduct with a firearm. No surprise there. But then sheriff's deputies arrested Pineda's father-in-law, Perry Don James. Apparently, James, who is a convicted felon, was concerned about gun charges, so he threw Pineda's weapon into nearby pond. James was booked on complaints of felon in possession of a firearm and destruction of evidence. Pineda's wife was then arrested for obstruction of justice, because she initially told police that someone else had been shooting at her husband and his friend....

..."To our knowledge, [we've had] no Bigfoot sightings in Rogers County."

Yowtch.

Or Henry Hill and Joey Gribble?

http://empirenews.net/teenage-boy-dress ... -hospital/

A tragic story today out of Texas. Avid hunter Henry Hill accidentally shot his 14-year-old neighbor, Joey Gribble, who was testing out his Bigfoot costume he’d created for Halloween.

This one just sounds made up, though. They seem to be characters from the show King of the Hill. :glare: Hank Hill? Joseph Gribble?

“Everyone knows everyone here,” said Joseph’s father Dale. “It really bugs me that some people think we’re just a bunch of gun-toting, conspiracy-believing crazies, when that’s not the case. Although in retrospect, I wish that Joey had just been into Spider-Man movies or something.”

Dale also added that a number of strangers have offered messages of support. The town’s nearest city, McManorburgh, which for decades has held a fierce football rivalry with Ralen, dedicated its last football game to the family, and the team’s coach delivered a halftime message of support, urging fans to keep the family in their thoughts and prayers.

“Yup,” said neighbor Mike Judge. “That’s what we do here, we stick together. Like glue we do, we stick together like glue.”

These are clearly cartoon characters.
