Lego Technic

I dont know if that fits well in this subforum but ill ask anyway :-)

Do you think it would be a good thing to make a site on which one could collect ideas for making machines for scientific research/education and so on out of lego technic parts?
There are allready some interessting things in existence like
-the Lego Antykithera mechanism
-some of C. Babbages Machines (Calculators)
-a working Microtome
