I Should Do Something With My Old Magazines...

Postby MrFab » Fri May 14, 2010 12:35 am

...Skeptic, Scientific American, Skeptical inquirer, going back a few years, so not (too) outdated. Any schools, prisons, juvi homes, libraries, etc in the Los Angeles area that can take a few boxes of magazines? I'll drive to deliver. Hate to just throw 'em out.

Maybe we can set up a resource center - I'm sure we've all got old magazines that are still useful. I want to see them go to people who need 'em - that's why I'm specifically mentioning prisons. Criminals often seem to think that the opposite of a life of crime is finding religion. They need education! Not that I'm naive enough to think that a copy of magazine will save someone's dead-end life. But it couldn't hurt.

Bit of trivia: Many public libraries will not accept donations of magazines. It goes without saying, call first.

If you still have the magazines with you, can you just donate them to the local skeptic society which I'm planning to start? I live in India and if you are interested and want the magazines for a good purpose you can mail it to us. you can just write me a mail if you want to donate the magazines, My ID is nirmal_ac06@yahoo.co.in

There's this:

Doesn't say anything about magazines, tho. (And in any case, mine are long gone.)
