Is Stephen King's IT haunting Oregon City residents?

Postby Willywizz » Fri Oct 13, 2017 10:52 am

Hi SF! This is my first thread, so bare with me!! :D

I came across a popular story browsing reddit. The story is heavily upvoted and gained a lot of comments, with him replying to every one.

For reference, here is the link to his story - https://www.reddit.com/r/Thetruthishere ... t_anymore/

He states he is being haunted by a monster that has glowing red eyes, and this monster chases him at night so he never walks outside at night ever again because it was chasing him and he thought it was going to kill him, but he found a streetlight and the monster was repelled by it.

He implies that this monster is out to get him. He also mentions in his OP that he can travel back in time, and has seen deer that burned from the inside out. He says a 60 year old neighbor died from black mould poisoning when none was found in his home, and he lived at home. He says his town is Derry town from IT.

He implies this monster is causing distortions in his town and saw a shadow figure by the road, and compares his town to Stephen King’s IT. He also said this monster has the ability to mute sound, for example when he got close to it, he couldn’t hear the water running in the creek like normal, and could not hear his own screams. He said he thought he was going to be torn apart by the monster and killed, but he found a barn that had light and then he was safe.

Can anyone from Oregon city confirm if this is true or fake? Why can't I find any news reports of any of this? Or am I not trying hard enough? If your town has red eyed monsters that chase people at night and distort reality, time travel, deer mutilations, and people dying mysterious deaths from black mould, would nobody care to document it or report it to the press to further investigation?

I PM'd him and told him his story was a good creepypasta, but he got defensive and said it's true and that it has haunted him for years...

Thoughts?

It is just someone's first attempt at writing fiction in the "Stephen King" style. All the genre elements are there : Small country town, Adult remembering something from when he was a kid. Monster not seen in full ( until last chapter), a warning at the end to scare readers, "I'm telling you, something strange and terrifying is out here".

It won't get the author very far. This genre has been over supplied and no publisher is interested.

Actually......the author of that fictional story needs to be taken outside and shot for bad writing

"All I heard was what sounded like an animal with human bare feet chasing me"
What sort of animal has human feet? Why can't it just be a human?

"It's footstep pattern didn't sound like an all out sprint. More like a light gallop."
....human feet and can gallop? He can identify that sound?

"I heard it's furious steps come to an abrupt stop,"
How can bare feet sound furious?
