texting

Postby JO 753 » Fri Dec 11, 2015 1:45 am

I've been upgrading the old pajez on the nooalf site lately. The html wuznt very good to begin with and had gotten ransid due to the html standardz chanjing over the last 12 yirz .

Yesterday I did the slakrz nqalf paje.

I hav the impression that most uv us here are old farts, but still, maybe you like all this texting, tweeting, facebooking, etc.

Foolishness! Anybody can tok and lissin way faster than they can type or read, plus tokking and lissening happen simultainiuously, so the rate uv info exchanje for text iz probably less than 1/50th az fast.

Iz this wut passez az youthful rebellion theze day? In the olden daze, it wuz sex, drugz, rock & roll, riot, rebellion. Did us old farts uze up all the vim & vigor uv the human rase?

Wutevr, its pop and alredy securely snuggled into sosiety and teknolojy, so slakrz nqalf iz u wa to kut xe efrt / dekres xu slones bi ubowt 20%.

That fone makes me yern for the good old dayz uv sound on the fone. Quality sound. Remember that stuff?

HEY! Maybe thats wy the kidz prefer to text! The sound iz soooo kuurrrrappyyy that its better to spend 20 secondz typing a short sentens than having to say it, lissin to sum garbled static that wuz probably "Wujyu say?" and then say it agen, & probably a 3rd time.

I wondered about that. I don't know, but I wonder if mechanical phone exchanges work during the EMP period after a large nuclear strike.

Do you remember when a Mig-25 landed in Japan in 1976 and still had a back up valve avionics system. At first people laughed until someone pointed out valves work during EMP periods.

They should work after an EMP from a nuclear bomb. When I was on an American aircraft carrier, the phones were those rotary types. They didn't use electricity. They called them "sound-powered".

They really didn't. I had to teach myself. One day I sat down and read half of the dictionary, for fun.

Texting kind of sucks imo. I try to avoid it unless I can't speak to someone, like because they are at work or something.

If the the only thing texting was used for was to keep from getting into a conversation, I'd be happy. It's the peeps I know who use texting instead of getting into a conversation that bug me. Texting is great for brief one-way communications when an immediate response is unnecessary. However, talking/listening is much easier than writing/reading when back and forth conversation is necessary.

Talking a lot on a cell co$t$. Texting a lot costs little or nothing. The texting phenomenon is no more complicated than that.

Dependz on the pocket emptying plan you are on. Many hav unlimited texts, but you coud also hav unlimited tok.

Then, if you count your time az having greater than zero value, texting iz very expensiv.

And, you can text your classmates very quietly.
