Cannabis. Again!

For those people who think smoking cannabis is a healthy and harmless activity, note that it raises the risk of heart disease and stroke. This in addition to other studies showing it lowers IQ, increases risk of mental illness, and even increases risk of lung cancer.

It is still probably safer than drinking alcohol, and definitely safer than smoking tobacco, and I still think it should be legalised (and regulated, and taxed). However, do not kid yourself that smoking it is a good thing to do.

Lowers IQ? I'd take a guess and say it lowers the willingness to answer a set of rather silly questions on the grounds that there are more important things to do - like getting stoned. It's one of those human activities (like drinking alcohol) which people like doing. Not that I like doing it - oh no. I wouldn't be seen dead with funny substances. Except snuff and alcohol, of course, but they're OK as they're officially sanctioned.
I blame the Puritans - boring bastards that they were.

The weed doesn't really add any flavor to the recipe, so if you like brownies then you're good to go. Just make sure you're "clean" when you make them or you'll wind up with a mass of nuts stuck together with brownie. [/lowimpulsecontrol]

I heard from 'a friend' that tinctures are the way to go.

A lttle under your tounge, and it goes right into the bloodstream.

Despite all of the supposed dangers of weed, I believe (note that I said "believe" and not "know") that there are times and occasions when weed can kill you.

I worked as a paramedic/EMT for over a decade, and my concerns about weed have to do with alcohol.

Everyone knows that reefer is an excellent anti emetic/anti nausea drug, which is why it's good for chemo patients.

In my mind, this same property is bad for binge drinking college students because they don't vomit...and therefore die from alcohol poisoning.

I believe that reefer was implicated in most alcohol poisoning cases that I ran on when responding to a college campus.

Weed can kill if you're young, reckless, and lacking in wisdom.

There's a dash cam video showing two young men boarding across a street with an island in the middle. As the second young rolls out into the street without looking a car comes along and smashed the front of the board. The moron looks surprised. He shouldn't have been.
