Jus this morning I commented to a young friend that "I'm into CB" - predictably she had no idea what I was referring to so I went on a five minute rant about the best band I know of. Anyway:

One of my first Rodoh avatars was this:

probably over a pint, but he was back then a potential DJ - we'll never know

the Grauniad frustrates me of course but here they show a better sense of proportion than most:

Smith will say they are awful just the same. I used to imagine him a cranky old man with yard gnomes and books - scaring the neighborhood children.

Oh, no.

For me, it's like a special branch of the whole modern music ceases to exist. This is the most devastating death for me, maybe even from the time of John Lennon's death, but back then I was only 13 years old. I think The Fall were a category of their own and made what music was from the 80s onward.

very well said, this one is basically impossible to take, Lennon and Cobain both actually hit me hard, this one even harder and I'm way past being a "fifty year old man" - I should no longer at my age be sentimental about these things

Here in 2.00', our lovely proud Greek girl Elena sings in Greek, but with a rhyme (I mean, she doesn't just translate the words to Greek, she sings within the beat and rhyme):

- You should come and see me to show you how much I will change myself, when you'll give me something to slaughter
