Amazon's 100 Books to read in a Lifetime

Postby kennyc » Tue Feb 25, 2014 1:10 pm

Good list! I love that it is both fiction and non-fiction:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/browse/ref=pe_ ... 8192263011

and here it is ranked by Goodreads readers: http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/r ... 8192263011

I'm read a lot of them, but many many I have not and some I have no interest in reading....like Jane Austin....others I've tried to read and hated like James Joyce (oh, wait, Joyce didn't make the cut! ), so there! ....

LOL.. Facinating, as are all your opinions.
And of course it does explain why you're KennyC., and not say, Christopher Hitchens OR Richard Feynman: YOUR perceptions, your likes and dislikes, are by your own admission based on having no actual contact with the subject matter…

' I never read James Joyce but I hate him anyway' might as well be, 'Don't pay attention to anything I write or say, because intellectually, I am "Kenny Lummox.'

And by the way her name is Jane Austen…

" Norma, you poor sad lonely alcoholic. You entire life is devoted to interrupting other people's posts on this forum, regardless of the topic, to tell them what's wrong with them. The irony is, here you are doing it again, with this very post.
Your fanciful card games, movie sojourns and exciting overseas trips, that all take place within the four walls of an aged care retirement home, do not suggest your own children offered you the care, I gave my parents."

This is offensive to me:

Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

The name of the book is Alice's Adventures in Wonderland!
Listening twice as much as you speak is a sign of wisdom.
