The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

That's a really terrific video……..
Instructive.
Especially the set direction.

And what it teaches is that the guys who practice so assiduously and work so hard to be great at handling their weapons will - judging from their cars and their clothes- eventually get to be employed, do the dirty work for, the guys who swear the silk s suits and are driven about by chauffeurs in Jaguars or Alfa-Romeos.

In other words when they have perfected their craft, and can hit their targets 99,8% of the time, they will probably get jobs that fit their talents.
But even if they are employed and well paid, they are still lackeys and will always be so.
Working stiffs…
(I makes one wonder: do they have superior medical, dental and retirement benefits?)
Because the guys in the silk suits in the back of the Jaguars barking out the "SHOOT TO KILL" orders do not use guns, and as they move up in the food chain they don't have to own guns, or even be near guns.
They own lawyers…
(And bookkeepers.) .

P.S. Jeez, now I'm sad.
Was that the intended message?

You have it the other way around. These guys were lackeys. One was Marine Special Forces, the other was Coast Guard actually boarding drug boats, and went into training guys to board these boats. Their abilities were hard won. This video was from several years ago. They are both successful instructors, getting paid to promote gear and guns, and teach people to do what they do. It's a helluva good life for the gun junky. They left Magpul to branch out on their own, which makes me sad, as Magpul had the budget to produce this type of quality, and the instruction these guys gave was peerless. I have all the ones they made, and though a respectable marksman in my own right, learned quite a bit from them, but haven't had the chance to train with them personally, yet.

There can be no argument with that, FTH….
You are absolutely right: . I really have no insights into these particular lives.
And I'm glad you do, because I think that having skills, knowing how to do things well, being able to teach others how to do the same, is important and desirable, and should be commemorated.

However, my point remains: the people who carry the guns, even the people who train the people who carry the guns, and train them to do it carefully and well, are still the serfs in the chain of the gun/mercenary/war cultures.
The people at the top busy themselves with learning about wines, liquors, foods…even where the best women can be found and bought.
And how to tell a Rembrandt or a Diebenkorn from each other, rather than from a Kalashnikov
And where the best places are to stash money.
Or how to win elections.

I'll move this to another thread. I didn't mean to start this conversation here, I was just testing out how to imbed a video.

Look for a reply on my old gun thread here in a minute.

I will look into it. There is a [video] bbcode out there that handles multiple types of video embedding via JavaScript.

Pyrrho wrote:https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/bbcode/video/

Currently the following video services are supported:

youtube.com (youtu.be) — playlists are also supported
vimeo.com
dailymotion.com
ustream.tv
webm, ogv and mp4 files via HTML5 <video>

Thank you!

Hi Pyrhho,

I see your explanation on the image thing here. But I noticed that upon posting a recent attachment on the Monty hall problem, I am unable to make the image big enough and so the post may be unread for its inability to read the image well in context. When you click in the image it takes you to a separate page which doesn't amplify the image large enough even there.

I only opted to use the images because it was easier to use than trying to figure out how to ideally represent these by trial and error drawing through HTML.

Is there any other option that you could suggest if you prefer not to improve this?

Thanks. Scott.

There is a size limit for attachment images.

You could try uploading your image to a service such as http://postimage.org/ and selecting one of the link sharing options, which you could then paste into your post.

This advise really helped Pyrrho, thanks. I was able to redo my illustration and upload it to be seen clearly.

I use http://photobucket.com/ for that and would in the past have recommended it; however, it used to be a much simpler site. Nowadays I find it very confusing, and am often frustrated in my efforts to upload images, although I've always managed to get it done after some difficulty.

Still, I think it's safe to blame them. They probably ruined it from afar.
