the tedious way to understand what I am ranting about would be to read the responses to my 2 main topics .
first topic I created - psychiatry is a scam - in health care
2nd topic I created - eeoc is a racist cult - in politics and government

could also get a list of names of people who were banned (numan) and go over their posts .
you will find the same theme - personal attacks and insults .
also should ask the site administrator for a list of names that were banned .
can also ask him for the reason they were banned .
he might refuse but it would be interesting

also if you really wanted background on this site , you would contact the people who were here years ago and quit coming .
for the real minority ; there will be no justice , there will be no peace .
makes sense 2me , so it has 2be wrong .

Off the top of my head, I can think of two people one might still be able to find on other boards: kennyc and xouper.

also need to know LULZ - I did it for the lulz (4 the lulz) - maybe called internet bullying now ?
lulz was part of AOL chat rooms from the beginning .
I guess it is human nature .

also should have a list of names with the most posts . try to figure out why .

I think this is the best run site on the internet - I think people should pay to post here .
oh and even though I get attacked here , probably would be worse some where else

Me. It's me. I like to hear myself type.

Yes, I've tried to reign in my excessive posting, and yes, I've actually reduced my number of posts per day, but no, you probably can't tell because I'm still prolific. But at least I'm no longer superprolific.

oh and even though I get attacked here , probably would be worse some where else

I don't think you get attacked here, I think you get responded to. If others disagree with you, it's not because we're attacking you, it's because we think you post things that seem incorrect and we hope you will consider our opinions as highly as, well, we do. Except for me -- if I considered highly of my own opinion, I'd probably want to keep it to myself. But if I did that I wouldn't get to hear this: tap tap tap tap tap. That's the sound of myself typing. Haha! I just realized the word "tap" has three letters to tap! Tap tap tap! Tap.

Shirley that is the sound of you tapping. There is no typing at all going on. Keyboard entry...yes. The sound of that is probably "mute" but could be any sound you select in the drop down menu....and I don't think tap is there.

I have mute for all settings. That way I can record music while I bother people.

Do you remember some of the content, or what subforum it was in, pias?

ETA Was it this one? (I found it by searching Pyrrho's posts for the word "locked".)

And what's on tap? :ahoy:

I think he means the Luk* Mcke* thread that Pyrrho deleted in full. That person rang me up at home and threatened me. He last posted on Stormfront but has sort of disappeared from the internet, as he annoyed the Vietnamese government, where he was residing at the time. He can't come back to Australia due to potential civil slander actions from senior police people.

Oh, that kind of attacked.

I don't think that series of posts is representative of this forum. Rather, I think having it removed from the original thread and then locked is the more accurate model. "I get attacked here" suggests such comments are normative and allowed to happen without censure.

Good one.

landrew disliked the apparent conclusion that no one else shared his particular view on how to be sceptical. I'm sure he felt outnumbered and confronted by irrational people (something I live with every moment of my own life as well...you crazy crazy people, everywhere I go, constantly touching my stuff...).

He's studying the attitudes of "science people".

Full disclosure:
I have a Master of SCIENCE in Computer SCIENCE.
Every job I've had since getting that degree involved keeping track of other people's money.

The only place where people with such qualifications claim to be "science people" is in creationist tracts they are writing (and are cagey about their qualifications).

Hello folks - just an update that the project is *nearly* completed (1 month to go!) and then yes I will be posting a link to the finished thing.

If anyone commented on my original threads giving me permission to quote them but now would like to withdraw please please do that ASAP so I can spend time finding alternative quotations. Happy to chat about how I'm using quotations if you'd like, drop me a PM (with some probable delays in replying, I have rather a lot to get through right now...)

Hah!.............I'm drawing a complete blank on what "useful" ideas/statements/recognitions/cautions/review could be made in such a study. Even a most excellent study which I'm sure is coming.

What is the gold being mined?

Have all the good topics been taken?????

"Science Guys?" ......... this is a "skeptics forum." Not the same thing at all.....but I feel a Monty Python sketch coming on...

You may quote anything I have publicly posted on these public boards. If I don't like it, I will be miffed and it really won't matter because this is the internet anyway. I supposed I could say "publish and be darned" but I'm probably going to be too lazy to darn anything so...yeah.
