The more the Wall costs the better.
After all, Mexico is paying for it.
I've come up with a set of rules that describe our reactions to technologies:
Spoiler:
1. Anything that is in the world when you’re born is normal and ordinary and is just a natural part of the way the world works.
2. Anything that's invented between when you’re fifteen and thirty-five is new and exciting and revolutionary and you can probably get a career in it.
3. Anything invented after you're thirty-five is against the natural order of things.

How much is the tight line of security to secure the precious wall from vandalism and theft gonna cost?

And/or is it gonna electrify itself? :shockd:

Yeap, the solar panel border wall...and more. It could be used for advertising. Just put lots of TV screens on the wall and presto the wall would make tons of money.

But that's not everything, they could build new private prisons near the wall powered by free electricity and if they put soil on the top of the wall they could use the free labour available ( in prisons) to grow tomatoes ( marijuana).

Disney could build theme parks along the wall with make believe smuggling tunnels and real life shoot outs with the Mexican gangsters for the curious tourists.

And in order to create the environment friendly image of the wall the monarch butterfly feeding stations could be installed here and there (just here) on the wall

The business possibilities are really endless and knowing the American resolve for fixing the country's infrastructure and building the new high speed train network I have no doubt that all of that will be built real soon just like the Elon Musk's vacuum train from LA to San Francisco ( what tectonic plates and their faults?) and the commercial rockets to Mars.

Well, the solar panels will have to face the sun, so they'll need to be on the Mexican side of the wall. Therefore Mexico will have to guard them!

For maximum efficiency, the wall will have to rotate and tilt so the panels will be facing the sun all day, and through the seasons. Therefore, at times, only ufo dwellers will be able to guard them.

Maybe that's not necessary. Considering 'he-who-dreamed-it-up', only the finest plastics materials will be used and he'll demand his creation be protected and covered with a roof.

Ah, but! What if they rounded up all the Mexicans and put solar panels on them? Then the Mexicans could stand around all day, pointing themselves at the Sun and collecting all that energy. Plus they'll all be on street corners, which means they'll be easily connected to the grid. And since they'll need all those Mexicans, they won't need the wall anymore. Think of the savings!

What if we rounded up all the Trumpeters and Trumpettes and put solar panels on them? We can just market the solar panels as TrumpTan™.

Do they think they're building a 3,200km ruler-straight wall across flat terrain?
