Letter To Skeptics

Postby davidelkins » Sat Apr 22, 2017 9:17 pm

Dear Fellow Skeptics,

It is the purpose of this letter, to discuss the dangers of what I call Partialism, which is a pseudoscientific fallacy. Partialism is the claim that a person is not who they are.
Examples of Partialism:
If someone claims that another person is only in the left side of their body.
If someone claims that another person is a blood circulation system.
If someone claims that another person is a freckle.

These are algorithms which are used to confuse, torment and destroy other people. There are many such possible algorithms that might be used in various combinations against a torture victim. The algorithms will need to be decombusted using science and mathematics.

Sincerely, David Elkins,

These claim are more of the nature of the delusions of someone suffering schizophrenia. It has nothing to do with skepticism.

Can you offer us an example of anyone posting these claims?

Extremely loose use of the term 'algorithms', OP.
It's the back of the class for you again. Off you go.

No no, it's a real thing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Partialism

Partialism is sexual interest with an exclusive focus on a specific part of the body other than the genitals. Partialism is categorized as a fetishistic disorder in the DSM-5 of the American Psychiatric Association only if it causes significant psychosocial distress for the person or has detrimental effects on important areas of their life. In the DSM-IV, it was considered a separate paraphilia (not otherwise specified), but was merged into fetishistic disorder by the DSM-5. Individuals with partialism sometimes describe the anatomy of interest to them as having equal or greater erotic attraction for them as do the genitals.

It's deadly serious. And don't call me Shirley.
